          VELscope Oral Cancer Screening

          VELscope®

          Enhanced oral cancer screening.

The VELscope® Vx Oral Assessment System, or simply VELscope®, is an easy-to-use handheld device that is used as an adjunct to a dentist's comprehensive oral examination.

It uses natural tissue fluorescence to enhance the dentist’s ability to detect abnormalities in the mouth that are often invisible to the naked eye.

          Non-invasive & painless.

Screening with VELscope is non-invasive, painless, and takes only a few minutes to complete.

VELscope uses a fluorescence visualization technology which emits a safe blue light into the mouth.

          Advancedtechnology.

When utilizing the VELscope, normal fluorescence patterns typically appear as a bright green color, indicating that the fluorophores in the tissues of the oral mucosa are responding normally when exposed to blue light.

          Enhanced assessment.

If we see a suspicious area, we can photograph it for future comparison or, if need be, referred to an oral surgeon for a biopsy or further tests.
